Subject Problem displaying FRAMESET
Date Wed, 15 May 2002 14:59:58 GMT
Hi !

I have the following problem with frameset/frame:
(running Tomcat 4.0.3 using jdk1.3.1_02 on W2Ksp2 or WinNT 4 fp6a;
browser is Opera 6.01 or IE 5.00.3315.1000;SP2)

I'm trying to display a page using frames and it doesn't work.

When I enable Frames in my browser I see white on white and that's it.
When I disable Frames the page looks as expected.

When I open the pages to be displayed in Frames (report-header.jsp,
report-body-cathegories.jsp and report-body-numbers.jsp) all three
are displayed as expected.

This is my page named report.jsp:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" language="java" buffer="64kb" %>
<html locale="true">

<head>
<title>My Title</title>
<base href="http://localhost:8080/liquiplan/report.jsp">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href='<%=response.encodeUrl("/liquiplan/common/style.css")%>'/>
</head>

<body bgcolor="white">
<frameset rows="150, *" border="0" frameborder="0">
  <frame src="report-header.jsp" name="header" />
  <frameset cols="280, *" border="0" frameborder="0">
    <frame src="report-body-cathegories.jsp" name="legend" />
    <frame src="report-body-numbers.jsp" name="body" />
  </frameset>
  <noframes>
  <%@ include file="report-print-content.jsp" %>
  </noframes>
</frameset>
</body>

</html>

For completeness here come the other pages

The frame-page report-header.jsp looks like this:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" language="java" buffer="64kb" %>
<html:html locale="true">
<head>
<title>My Title</title>
<base href="http://localhost:8080/liquiplan/report.jsp" target="header" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href="<%=response.encodeUrl("/liquiplan/common/style.css")%>"/>
</head>
<body bgcolor="white">
  <jsp:useBean id="reportForm" scope="session" class="my.class.path.ReportForm"/ -->
  <%@ include file="report-header-content.jsp" %>
</body>

</html>

The other frame-pages look indentical to the above, only the file
included is different.

report-print-content.jsp looks like:
  <jsp:useBean id="eportForm" scope="session" class="my.class.path.ReportForm"/>
  <%@ include file="reportTreasury-header-content.jsp" %>
  <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">
    <tr>
      <td><%@ include file="reportTreasury-body-cathegories-content.jsp" %></td>
      <td><%@ include file="reportTreasury-body-numbers-content.jsp" %></td>
    </tr>
  </table>

Any idea what could cause this or how I could further debug it ?

Thank you, best,
Michael
