Subject RE: Tomcat 3.3.1 & MySQL

Hello,

in TC 3.1.1 , when you want to connect to database, you must do it yourself
in servlet or JSP as in "normal" aplication.
Use standart code to open JDBC connection. This doesn't rely on server.xml
file. Only thing you must do is place JDBC drvier classes
(for example mm.gjt.driver.jar ) to directory TOMCAT_INSTALL/lib/container
to be visible when you use Class.forName("driverName");

Tomcat supports connection pooling and handling only from version 4.0.
