Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the club.  I have been spending countless hours trying to 
resolve the
same problem you describe.  I'm trying to buid mod_jk on Linux.  I'll 
let you know
if I find the answer, and I hope you'll do the same if you solve the 
problem before me.
