In the web.xml file you can define error pages....

Example:

<error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/missing.jsp</location>
</error-page>

And so on....

You can also define error pages for any exceptions: (again in web.xml)

Example :

 <error-page>

<exception-type>java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException</exception-type>
        <location>/error.html</location>
 </error-page>
