Subject Re: jsp compilation problem, Timeout too quick

Ah, I remember that thread.

It looks like there has not been a real response to a solution. I have,
however, a pretty reproducible case.

In my application, I have the system automatically load some classes and do
some init when tomcat is restarted. By monitoring the log files, I can
determine when the app is ready for use, then I do my testing. When users
first come in, a Login.JSP is served up by my dispatcher. That works OK
most of the time.

However, when the user attempts to login using login.jsp, I just get an
internal server error. I need to refresh a variable of times before
everything suddenly works. This happens every time I restarted Tomcat. I
do not know how often this happens if Tomcat is left running.

So, the environment is Redhat 7.1 with IBM Java 1.3, running Tomcat 3.24.
Tomcat is connected to Apache using Ajp13.

So, does anyone with internal knowhow have a magic fix? I have looked at
the jasper and tomcat log files, as well as apache log file. There does not
seem to be any information logged.
