AFAIK the only thing you have to do is let tomcat 4.0 serve the
PDF's instead of your own servlet.

Tomcat 4 implements HTTP 1.1 which introduced something like
'byte range request' (I don't have the exact name at hand)
which is used by the acrobat reader.
