Subject how to configure proxy authentification user/password from tomcat
Date Tue, 06 Nov 2001 13:32:13 GMT

I'm using Catalina/Jasper (Tomcat 4.0)
embeded in Jboss 2.4.3, with cocoon2.

In a servlet (cocoon in fact)
I want to load internet web pages though our
firewall proxy, which ask for a proxy user and password.

I think I've found how to set
the proxy host an port (-Dhttp.proxyHost=host... )
but nothing to configure the proxy user/password

how to do that in tomcat.

is it possible however to create an
HTTPConnection and force it to be used instead
of the standard one...

if impossible is it planned to support
such functionality, ie
propose in tomcat a king of HttpConnection
that use a default proxy authentication,
configured centrally, or even configured for each webapp
in web.xml extensions...

many intranet servers that want to propose
a "web scraping" portal need that...

thanks in advance...
