Subject Tomcat 4.0/Apache 1.3/Linux: socket error when connecting to /examples
Date Sun, 14 Oct 2001 13:25:51 GMT
I have managed to install Tomcat 4.0 so that it works properly on port 8080,
but cannot manage to get the integration with Apache working properly.

I have installed mod_webapp.so (a binary from jakarta.apache.org) and get no
errors with 'apachectl configtest'. I have added the appropriate lines into
my httpd.conf:

	ServerName nyama
	WebAppConnection conn warp nyama:8008
	WebAppDeploy examples conn /examples

(nyama is a virtual host running on 127.0.0.2, and the above lines are within
the <VirtualHost 127.0.0.2> element.)

Both Tomcat and Apache start properly (as shown by the output to the log, below),
but when I try to go to http://nyama/examples/ I get a socket exception error
(also below) and the browser returns a "document contains no data" error.

I have read as much documentation as I can find and have gone through about
three weeks of the mailing list archive, but still can find nothing that
mentiones this particular error.

Please help!!!
