<tomcat_home>/conf directory is the standard location.

If you place items in tomcat/lib you must edit the Tomcat config file
(either workers.properties or wrapper.properties depending on how you
are using Tomcat)
so that Tomcat will use them. Tomcat doesn't automatically pick up just
any jar file in the lib directory. You must add the entry to the config
file.

So make sure you make the appropriate config file change. If you are
using the IIS redirector, after you edit wrapper.properties, make sure
you restart WWW Publishing Service (IIS) rather than the Tomcat service
to have the new libs used by Tomcat. (This has burned me a few times in
the past.)

Hope this helps,
Keith

I just tried doing a stand-alone test as someone had suggested and
everything works fine. So i'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my
code.
I tried placing the jconn2.jar file in the tomcat/lib folder as well but
that doesn work either.

try placing the file in tomcat/lib. not sure if its the politically
correct
place but it works for me with sybase, oracle and ibmQ..

Hi,

I'm trying to connect to a database using
Class.forName("com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver"); However, I keep
getting a
ClassNotFoundException. I have added the path to the jconn2.jar file to
my
PATH and CLASSPATH variables and I also tried adding the jconn2.jar file
to
the Tomcat/common/lib folder but neither are working. Any suggestions
about
what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.
