Subject Tomcat 4.0, Apache 1.3.19, mod_webapp and getPathInfo()
Date Fri, 28 Sep 2001 13:27:59 GMT
I have a servlet which I have deployed using mod_webapp.

Firstly, given that the htppd.conf deploys the servlet specifically
with:

  WebAppDeploy test localwarp /test/

do the choices that Tomcat makes when auto-deploying the servlet
(because it can see it under the 'webapps' directory) make any
difference?

Secondly, in the test servlet's web.xml I have:

  <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>test</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
  </servlet-mapping>

When I visit the URL:

  http://foo/test/a/b/

getPathInfo() returns null instead of '/a/b', and getServletPath()
returns '/a/b' instead of '/'. Why is this and what can I do to fix
it?

Cheers

Jon
