Dear Stefan,
You want a system to pre defines TOMCAT_HOME & JAVA_HOME, right?
Do that using the basic NT Environment variables settings. In W2K this is
can be done by right clck on My computer => Propertities Page => Advanced
Tab
=> Environment Variables.

This could help.
