Getting closer here is the error I get now

UX:ld: ERROR: jk_ajp12_worker.o: libelf error:  Format error: shdr table
truncated elf_getehdr:
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Sorry about a couple of things,

When I said "-I...." you have to write all the 
options apxs put when invoking cc
(see your original mail).

and I misspeled -share, its "--share"
