hi, thanks for your reply.

i actually got it to work about a half an hour after i posted with this
command:

/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -o mod_jk.so -I../jk
-I/usr/java/jdk1.3/include -I/usr/java/jdk1.3/include/linux -c *.c
../jk/*.c

hardcode once, hardcode again, i suppose. oh well.
