I don't know what's the '-server' parameter used for, but if you look at the
file tomcat.sh (or tomcat.bat in Win) inside the $TOMCAT_HOME/bin directory,
you'll find the way to appending any JVM parameter.
Look for $JAVACMD and $TOMCAT_OPTS.

Sorry, forgotten:

This is only for J2SDK 1.3 (on Linux) ! They work fine together and are
VERY, VERY fast !

But, I wanted to try the JVM-Parameter -server and don't now where to use it
in Tomcat 3.1.
