Subject Can't find SAXParserFactory
Date Mon, 23 Oct 2000 20:26:02 GMT
This is probably a very, very easy question. I apologize if this is in a FAQ somewhere (if
so, where?), but I've looked and can't
find anything.

On Win NT, I've unzipped the zip file, set TOMCAT_HOME & JAVA_HOME appropriately, made
sure that 'java' was in my PATH, cd'd into
$TOMCAT_HOME, and ran bin/ under bash (and bin\startup.bat under

In both cases, I get the following error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/parsers/SAXParserFactory
        at org.apache.struts.digester.Digester.getParser(
        at org.apache.struts.digester.Digester.parse(
        at org.apache.struts.example.DatabaseServlet.load(
        at org.apache.struts.example.DatabaseServlet.init(
        at javax.servlet.GenericServlet.init(
        at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.initServlet(
        at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.loadServlet(
        at org.apache.tomcat.context.LoadOnStartupInterceptor.contextInit(
        at org.apache.tomcat.core.ContextManager.initContext(
        at org.apache.tomcat.core.ContextManager.init(
        at org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat.execute(
        at org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat.main(

Sure enough, that class isn't anywhere I can find. I feel that I'm missing a CLASSPATH entry,
but damned if I can find it.

Any ideas?
