Hi Alan,

Maybe you should add the lib directory to your classpath AND all the
jars from there, like this:

SET CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\jdk1.2\lib\classes.zip;c:\tomcat\lib\servlet.jar;c:\tomcat\lib\webserver.jar
(etc, etc...)

I'm not too sure because I use Linux, but maybe the startup.bash does
not really take care of these...  Worth a try?
