Subject how to pass a principal from tomcat to a application server
Date Mon, 25 Sep 2000 15:35:58 GMT
Hello,

I wrote a simple Web Application in order to test authentiction issues.
All defined principals and roles are well known in the tomcat servlet
container.
But if a servlet calls an enterprise bean, the principal is not passed to
the appllication server (here: weblogic) - the app-server identifies every
caller just as 'guest'.

here is the calling code:
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");

     try{
        ctx = new InitialContext(ht);
        ....

Is there a possibility to pass on the principial?
When I just use weblogic (as httpd and servletcontainer, too), erverything
works fine.

Thanx for your help
Michael
