Isn't SSLSocketFactory part of the tomcat distribution?

I have jsse.jar, jnet.jar and jcert.jar. All of these were downloaded
from 
http://java.sun.com/products/OV_stdExt.html - the standard extensions
page.

I assume you meant jsse.jar?
