Subject RE: Antwort: RE: NT Service dies on logout?
Date Thu, 20 Jul 2000 14:33:49 GMT
The problem occurs when someone logs off at the console. Setting
the service to automatic only starts the service at system startup. If
someone logs on to the console then logs off the jk_nt_service terminates.
All running processes receive a console logoff event and if this is not
ignored the process will terminate. JDK 1.2.2 ignores the logoff event but
JDK 1.3 does not.

It would be convenient for JDK 1.3 to ignore the event, but
jk_nt_service should really be handling this issue.

Hello from Germany

Where is the problem?

I'm using IIS 5.0 on Win2k Server with Tomcat 3.1 and JDK 1.2.2 and it
works fine. With JDK 1.3 shutdown kicked Tomcat, but now it is running.

P.S.: If you set jakarta-NT-service start to automatic, Tomcat will come
back after reboot.

Have a nice day, Kai Schröder
