sorry my mail was wrong but my startup.bat was right :

SET TOMCAT_HOME=c:\soft\tomcat
SET JAVA_HOME=c:\soft\jdk1.2
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;c:\soft\jdk1.2\bin

and the CLASSPATH is set by the tomcat.bat to

set CLASSPATH=.
set CLASSPATH=%TOMCAT_HOME%\classes
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\webserver.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\jasper.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\xml.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\servlet.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar

which makes actually :

c:\soft\tomcat\classes;c:\soft\tomcat\lib\webserver.jar;c:\soft\tomcat\lib\jasper.jar;c:\soft\tomcat\lib\xml.jar;c:\soft\tomcat\lib\servlet.jar

all my paths seem to be correct and the jars are found because the javac compiler is launched.

Any other idea ?

Thanks

Riccardo Cohen
