Subject RE: servlet cannot find depending JAR file

I believe the reason you didn't find WEB-INF/lib for the examples app is
because it comes in a .war file.  Just expand this file in place using the
jar command.  Rename the examples.war to be sure it's not being used.  Then
I think Tomcat will find what you want it to find.
