That is exactly how I am doing it.  I'm sure that it is just a configuration
issue.  What OS are you running Linux under?

If I configure the server.xml httpconnection handler
port number to 80. There is absolute no way to run
tomcat as localhost/examples/servlets/.

If I configure the server.xml to 8080, I have to add
:8080 after the http address to access tomcat.

The Apache says Tomcat/1.0 running when I start
Apache, the Tomcat seems running where when I startup
Tomcat. 

I wish I can access tomcat with
http://localhost/examples/servlets/ and access Apache
with http://localhost/

Please help.
