Subject Antwort: Unable to start JVM for debuging.
Date Thu, 15 Jun 2000 08:50:49 GMT
Hi Fedor,

here is my script (NT 4.0) to start tomcat in debug mode

java -Dtomcat.home="C:\Programme\jakarta-tomcat" -Xdebug -Xnoagent

you must probably adjust the CLASSPATH and the path to the executable. Then you
can hook your debugger to tomcat with transport=dt_socket and address=8000. At
least this works fine with JBuilder.

Thema: Unable to start JVM for debuging.

I am tryind to use forte4j to debug Tomcat. (BTW, is this a good idea?).
As it's help says, in order to do that I need to start JVM with -Xdebug
option (BTW, how do I specify password?).
I've set TOMCAT_OPTS to -Xdebug, but when I try to start tomcat with this
JVM crashes on startup and Win complains that it referenced some memory it
should not. I am using Sun's JDK 1.2.2 for Win32. Any ideas? Am I doing
something wrong? Your help is appreciated.
