I've tried startup.bat from command prompt also but a new window flashes for a
few seconds giving the following

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org/apache/tomcat/service/http/HttpConnectionHandler
at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
at ..
so many places....
Starting tomcat using classpath .....

and then it closes.
I've JVM installed.
No clue,tomcat.log too isn't helpful.

Nitin,
Open an Msdos command window yourself and run the startup.bat from
the command prompt. Then you will see what is happening - error messages.
Do you have a JVM installed?

Subject: tomcat server not running on windows

hi
I've a little problem.AS per the user guide I set the JAVA_HOME and
TOMCAT_HOME but when I run startup.bat, it opens a new window for few
seconds
only and localhost:8080 doesn't work in the browser.
I've increased the memory space for .bat files, but all in vain.
Any idea??
