Subject URLRewriting not working :Finally, Is it a bug or it is not supported ? ?
Date Thu, 27 Apr 2000 14:37:06 GMT

Can somebody please provide an "official" answer to this question which in
my opinion is the biggest Tomcat problem at this time.
With cookies disabled URLRewriting (automatically appending the session ID
to the URL) does not work when Tomcat works with Apache.
It only works when Tomcat uses it's own Http server (port 8080) which is
kind of useless for production purposes.
In other words with cookies disabled session tracking is ...impossible ,
unless you want to use the deprecated HttpSessionContext interface and
retrieve the session of the user from his session ID. But this approach is
not recommended i think.

You cannot just write an application that will only work with cookies
enabled.....

So what's the deal finally with URLRewriting ? ?
Is it a bug ? Will it be supported soon ? ?

Thanks,
Alex.
