It's because tomcat.bat (which startup calls) is saved in 'UNIX' mode (i.e.
no CRLF to end lines). Open tomcat.bat in your favourite text editor and
save as 'PC' mode, all should then be fine

  Subject: Windows 2000 Pro/workstation help

I am attempting to start Tomcat on my Win2000 workstation. I do this by
running tomcat\bin\startup.bat

However, when startup.bat calls tomcat.bat, I get an error:

"The system cannot find the batch label specified - startServer"

However, it looks like tomcat.bat has this.

I have not modified any of the files.
