             Bug #: 53045
Summary: Websocket request from mobile browser gets an HTTP
                    Status 400 error
           Product: Tomcat 7
           Version: trunk
          Platform: PC
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Catalina
        AssignedTo: dev@tomcat.apache.org
        ReportedBy: repciuc.silviu@gmail.com
    Classification: Unclassified

Testing the Websocket Echo example from the 7.0.27 distribution on iOS 5.1
Safari triggers an HTTP Status 400 error - The request sent by the client was
syntactically incorrect ().

The http request captured using a tcp monitor looks like this:

GET /echoMessage HTTP/1.1
Upgrade: WebSocket
Connection: Upgrade
Host: localhost:8010
Origin: http://localhost:4444
Sec-WebSocket-Key1: ] 113 79 6,1242
Sec-WebSocket-Key2: 5 9986V87y 00

fBĘÚŔ-<

The example works fine with desktop browsers.
Tried with Mercury Browser on iOS 5.1 with the same result.
