Thanks for looking into this Bill!

Should 32Bit operations be atomic? The busy counter could well be 32 Bits.

For most of the other pure statistics counters, like bytes transferred, total
request number etc. I'm not to concerned about correctness of the numbers, but
the busy count influences the work of the balancer.
