Summary: Versioning under Windows not reported by many connector
                    components
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: Nightly Build
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows Server 2003
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Connector:AJP
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: moloney_paul@hotmail.com

many of the components in connectors project do not report file/dll version
information on windows32 as normally pulled from a resource file e.g.
jk/native/mod_jk, ajp/proxy, ajp/ajplib jk/native/jk_nt_service and

but jk/native/iis and jni/native/libtcnative do.

Also could the version of java and httpd compiled / running against should be
output as is similarily done for mod_ssl and httpd / openssl?

Can build instructions for windows hosts be supplied in terms of required tools/
apr versions and folder structure be documented?

At the moment I'm having to amend each dsp file to include a dependency on a .rc
file which has to be autogenerated by using the win32ver.awk file from main
httpd which is hackish at best.

unfortunately my employer won't let me contribute code.
