Summary: 65535 size limit for jsp
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: 5.5.23
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P1
         Component: Servlet & JSP API
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: sakthi.devendiran@gmail.com

I am using a jsp file which loads some thousands values in a list box ..
The jsp is generated dynamically and the size varies.. When the page is loaded
it gives the error """65535 size limit reached """"

I dont want to split the jsp ..Is there any work around to solve this problem??
I feel it may be due to tomcat 5.5 ..because the same file is loaded fine in
weblogic... Is it possible to change tomcat settings to solve this issue??

The error details are as follows
--------------------
Catalina].[localhost].[/star].[jsp]     - Servlet.service() for servlet jsp
threw exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
 -------------------
Generated servlet error:
The code of method _jspService(HttpServletRequest, HttpServletResponse) is
exceeding the 65535 bytes limit
