When using SSL configured in a servlet web application, screens sometimes 
appear as unreadable characters.  The java web application uses servlets and 
GZIPs the output stream if the client supports GZIP.

When a single user makes a lot of concurrent requests that all open new 
windows, some of the screens return as completely unreadable characters.
