Your deployment descriptor isn't valid.  The <servlet> element is required to 
have a <servlet-name> sub-element.  At that point, the init parameters will be 
available to that servlet.  Of course, since your servlet isn't mapped, a 
totally different servlet will service requests to /myapp/jspApp1.jsp.
