tomcat will not find setter methods of a tag's superclass

Summary: tomcat will not find setter methods of a tag's
                    superclass
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: 5.0.27
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Servlet & JSP API
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: ryan@rbohn.com

- say you have a tld that defines a tag "mylist" and attribute called
"pageNumber". In the MyListTag you need a setter method called setPageNumber.
Well, let's say that MyListTag extends an abstract class called ListTag and
defines a non-abstract method called setPageNumber. You think you're ok.....but
you're not! Tomcat will not find the setter method in the superclass.

- you must explicity define setPageNumber in the subclass...yuck!

- Resin handles this perfectly fine and so should you guys!
