PDF content through JSP fails in Tomocat 4.1.30, Windows IE and Acrobat Reader 6.0.1
Summary: PDF content through JSP fails in Tomocat 4.1.30, Windows
IE and Acrobat Reader 6.0.1
Product: Tomcat 4
Version: 4.1.30
Platform: Sun
OS/Version: Solaris
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: Connector:Coyote HTTP/1.1
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: dfisher@jmlafferty.com
Here is the situation.
We have been reading PDF content through a JSP using Tomcat 4.0.3 for a couple of years. No
real
problems until I upgraded our website to Tomcat 4.1.30. After that users of Windows IE (5.01,
5.5, 6.0)
and Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 (but not Reader 6.0) started having trouble displaying the PDF in
the browser
window.
I am including two files in my test case. The PDF (sample.pdf) which works fine when accessed
directly
and a cut down version of my open pdf jsp (badpdf.jsp)
I looked at bugid=24970, but the patch to Response.class is already in 4.1.30.
Thanks!
