I tried mapping the WebDAV servlet as the default servlet of a context, and it
works. There's an impact from the updated welcome files processing though (it
now matches the spec requirements, but is lower level and more intrusive), so
you have to put an empty list for that.
If there's a bug with the WebDAV servlet, you should look into it, as there's no
real maintainer for it anymore.
BTW, "/*" is a perfectly valid mapping (it has priority over a lot of other
mappings, which makes it especially well suited IMO for WebDAV).
