I'm going to assume that you're using 4.1.x.  In this case, you are using
the wrong Factory.  You want something like:

  Connector httpsConnector = embeddedTomcat.createConnector(null,

configuration.getHttpsPort(), true);
  CoyoteServerSocketFactory serverSocketFactory =
