JSPC not conform to new Jasper?

           Summary: JSPC not conform to new Jasper?
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.1.18
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Blocker
          Priority: Other
         Component: Jasper 2
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: andreas.ullmann@start.de

Hi *,

we use Tomcat together with weblogic which enforces us to compile our jsp's
manually.

After having compiled our jsp's with JSPC I tried to compile the generated
sources and got the error:
cannot resolve symbol org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspException

E.g.:
  public final void _jspx_init() throws org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspException {
  }

In fact this class doesn't seem to exist in 4.1.18.
The same is true for version 4.1.24.

I found the org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspException in version 4.01 (jasper-
runtime.jar) and took that one additionally in my classpath which seemed to
help.

But now I got the error:
XXXXXX.java should be declared abstract; it does not define getIncludes() in
org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.

My next Error is after using JSPC I get source files with the size of 0 kb and
also being generated in the wrong dirctory (seems to be related to bug 18477).

Now I am totally stuck. Any suggestions?

I am not really sure wether to post this as three diefferent bugs or not. Hope
this ok.

Andreas Ullmann
