sendRedirect assigns URL

           Summary: sendRedirect assigns URL
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.1.18
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: Connector:Coyote HTTP/1.1
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jaBernet@gmx.ch

I encountered a problem with sendRedirect which always rewrites the URI supplied
into a full URL. I had a quick look at the RFC and IMHO its not necesarry to
provide a full URL, an URI should be sufficent. This would normaly make now
difference but I use an SSL-Tunneling and Proxy-Server which internally access
tomcat on normal HTTP-Connector. So tomcat always adds HTTP:// to the
sendRedirect-URI, althaught the browser requested to the proxy using HTTPS. So
redirect always goes to normal HTTP which is fatal. If possible and supported by
browsers I would be glad if sendRedirect would not always add the full URL if
only a URI was specified.
