A translation error is not raised by the container if jsp:invoke specifies the 'scope' attribute
but not 'var' or 'varReader'

Summary: A translation error is not raised by the container if
jsp:invoke specifies the 'scope' attribute but not 'var'
                    or 'varReader'
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: Nightly Build
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Jasper2
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: Ryan.Lubke@Sun.COM

JSP.5-8 states that a translation error will result if the scope attribute
is specified and var or varReader are not.

The current Jasper impementation doesn't raise any translation error and instead
ignores the scope attribute and sends the result of jsp:invoke to the current
writer.
