PUT command returns 405 if Servlet has not been initialized

Summary: PUT command returns 405 if Servlet has not been
                    initialized
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.0.4 Final
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Servlet & JSP API
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: mark@sawers.com

Apparently, Servlets must be initialized to load at startup or by one of the
other HTTP methods. My servlet implements both doPut() and doGet(). If I use
GET, it initializes and then PUTs are accepted. If I use PUT, the servlet will
continue to return 405 until GET is used once.
