------- Additional Comments From stephanie.bodoff@sun.com 2002-08-21 01:50 -------
I copied the PointBase database client library to common/lib.

I created a data source in Tomcat admintool as follows:

Select the Data Sources entry under Resources.
Select Available ActionsCreate New Data Source.
Enter pointbase in the JNDI Name field.
Enter jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/sample in the Data Source URL field.
Enter com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver in the JDBC Driver Class field.
Enter public in the User Name and Password fields.
Click the Save button.
Click the Commit button.

Then I restarted Tomcat.

Tomcat 4.1.7 and 5.0 give the error below, and applications can't get
to the database using the JNDI name.

Using CATALINA_HOME: /home/sbodoff/installs/tomcat5.0
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /home/sbodoff/installs/tomcat5.0/temp
Using JAVA_HOME: /home/sbodoff/installs/j2sdk1.4.0_01
