Environment entries cause HTTP 500

           Summary: Environment entries cause HTTP 500
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.1.8
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Servlet & JSP API
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: apachedev@jokey.tv

If I insert the following lines in the doGet() part:

    try
    {
      Context initCtx = new InitialContext( );
      String datenPfad = (String) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env/datenPfad");
    }
    catch (NamingException e)
    {
    }

I can read the String datenPfad once. But when I reload the page I get a
nullPointerException when I do some if things with it.
