Maybe this is a similar problem I had when trying to fix the bug described 
in my previous posting: the Context is not yet set 
(HttpRequestBase.setContext()) at that stage - thus 
HttpServletRequest.isRequestSessionIdValid() will return false (see 
implementation of isRequestSessionIdValid()).
