HttpServletRequest.getPathInfo() method strips consecutive "/" chars

------- Additional Comments From chris@shenton.org  2002-03-06 16:20 -------
I've been developing under TDK and its version of getPathInfo() does NOT eat
slashes, so it really surprised me that my webapp broke when we deployed on
Tomcat (without TDK). It's not just PathInfo, but also getRequestURL() and
getRequestURI().

The request:

http://localhost:58080/sna/servlet/gov.nasa.hq.sna.intranetbroker.SlashTest/oj///simpson

results in the following from my dorky test servlet:

RequestURL:
http://localhost:58080/sna/servlet/gov.nasa.hq.sna.intranetbroker.SlashTest/oj/simpson
RequestURI:   /sna/servlet/gov.nasa.hq.sna.intranetbroker.SlashTest/oj/simpson
PathInfo:     /oj/simpson
