JNDIRealm working with IPlanet 5.1

Summary: JNDIRealm working with IPlanet 5.1
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.0.1 Final
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Catalina
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: thomas2.maesing@bgs-ag.de

Hi,
the JNDIRealm provided by you does not work the IPlanet 5.1 or I am
to stupid because Tomcat donīt get the password. On the other hand there may be
people who donīt want to provide the password to an application.

So I have changed it to use a new Context with the password to validate
the user. It is attached.

By the way with my tests I have observed that the Context.search() method seems
not to be thread safe.

Please treat my a attachment as a working hint. It will not be a perfect
solution.

Best regards

Thomas
