Unable to parse the Http Request-Line if there are extra spaces between Method and Request-URI

Summary: Unable to parse the Http Request-Line if there are extra
                    spaces between Method and Request-URI
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.0.1 Final
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Catalina
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: eric.yung@jspectrum.com

If there are extra spaces between the Method and the Request-URI in the Http
Request-Line, the class org.apache.catalina.connector.http.SocketInputStream
cannot get the Request-URI. The URI returned will be a space and the
HTTP-Version will include everything after the Method (the URI and the version).
I have discovered this bug when I use Catalina to parse HTTP requests from the
Nokia Activ Alert Server 2.0.1.
