Subject Apache+Tomcat newbie problem
Date Fri, 04 Aug 2000 20:44:29 GMT
Hi

I have Apache 1.3.9-17mdk and Tomcat 3.1 installed in my Linux box.

I've got a context defined as /myapp in $TOMCAT_HOME/conf/server.xml like this:

...
<Context path="/myapp" docBase="webapps/myapp" debug="0" reloadable="true" >
</Context>
...

and in my WEB_INF/web.xml I have a url pattern mapped to my servlet "MyServlet"
like this:

...
<servlet>
        <servlet-name>MyServletName</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>MyServlet</servlet-class>
</servlet>

<servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>MyServletName</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
...

and I have the following problem:

http://localhost:8080/myapp/servlet/MyServlet -> works fine
http://localhost/myapp/servlet/MyServlet -> works fine
http://localhost:8080/myapp/myservlet -> works fine
http://localhost/myapp/myservlet -> WON'T WORK

Please tell me what can I do to tune Apache+Tomcat to handle this case...

Thanx in advance!!

Paulo de Barcellos
