The LDAP compare method is a very efficient one. JNDI mimicks that using
a search operation which has different performance characteristics, and
adds constraints on top of that (meaning: more lines of code and more
bytes passing between client and server). I assume the difference is
hardly noticeable, but why should I waste my time trying to measure it?
