Subject Context specific Loggers?
Date Tue, 04 Apr 2000 13:37:03 GMT
The servlet 2.2 specification introduced the context concept to partition
web content into web applications == context. The current logging
implementation does not cater for context specific loggers. I suggest that a
setLogger method be added to the Context class and the log methods
implemented accordingly. If no logger is set, the context manager should
user the default ContextManager logger.

This pattern could also be extended down to the servlet level?

Having separate "application" logs makes sense when managing different
applications at different stages in the development lifecycle; and different
service levels and security levels.
