Here is my JSP snippet. isXyz() does not work for me. What am I doing incorrectly?

<s:set name="myBean" value="myBeanObject"></s:set>

<s:checkbox name="xyz" label="xyzLabel" value="%{#myBean.xyz}" required="true" tooltip="xyzTooltip"/>
